GRANDA recovers in a relief the image of the original painting of the Divine Mercy

With this relief, Granda wanted to support the desire of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Mother of God of Mercy to make known the authentic image of the Divine Mercy that is currently in the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, in Vilnius (Lithuania).

The picture was painted by the artist Eugene Kazimirowski in 1934, following the indications of Saint Faustina. Years earlier, on February 22, 1931, Jesus had appeared to the saint, with rays of light radiating from his heart, to convey to her the following message: "Paint an image according to the model you see together with the inscription Jesus, in you I trust. I wish this image to be venerated first in this chapel and then in the whole world. I promise that the soul that venerates this image will not perish".

After World War II, this first painting of the Merciful Jesus remained hidden on the grounds of the Soviet Union to avoid destruction. In its place, the image of the picture painted years later by another artist, Adolph Hyla, which was modeled on the original and installed in the parish church of the Divine Heart in Wroclaw (Poland), began to be venerated.

Now, after its restoration, the Congregation wants to propagate this first painting of the Merciful Jesus, formed in the atmosphere of the divine miracle.
