In this case,

we managed the project from its concept to installation. The goal was to propose and complete a chapel space well-adapted to the academic environment of students, with an atmosphere where young people could easily relate to iconography and feel welcomed in the Faith. One part of the project consisted in modifying a common, undifferentiated room in the building so that it could serve a liturgical purpose on a permanent basis. We have accordingly proposed and then crafted all elements for the interior decoration of the new chapel, including fine woodworking, liturgical metalwork, stained-glass windows and an altarpiece. The altarpiece houses two large canvas paintings, representing the Holy Family and the Calling of the Disciples. Images are painted in the style usually referred to as idealized realism. The paintings were carried out in collaboration with the Sacred Art School of Florence. We installed three grilles on the outside, framing three mosaics. The central mosaic is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, while the two on the sides represent two young people from recent history whose short lives are an example of devotion to God and who have for this reason become special patrons of the Christian youth. They are Blessed Chiara “Luce” Badano (1971-1990) and Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925).
