He was moved to do so by the footsteps of a Carmelite religious who walked barefoot through the snowy streets of Logro\u00f1o. One hundred years later, <strong>The church of Santiago El Real in Logro\u00f1o has dedicated one of the side chapels to St. Josemar\u00eda, where an altar and a wooden altarpiece with a painting and a bas-relief have been placed. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6019\" style=\"width: 3083px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6019\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6019\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20180121_113019-e1517492201531-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"20180121_113019.jpg\" width=\"3073\" height=\"3719\" title=\"\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-6019\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Altar and altarpiece made by Talleres de Arte Granda. The altarpiece, made of cedar wood, integrates the painting by Isabel Guerra and the bas-relief by Diana Garc\u00eda.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The design and structure of the altarpiece, the frame of these two pieces, as well as the altar and the lateral illumination have been made in our workshops.&nbsp;<strong>The altarpiece integrates an oil painting of St. Josemaria <\/strong>work of Isabel Guerra<strong> and a resin relief<\/strong> <strong>of the scene of the footprints in the snow<\/strong> by Diana Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6023 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/captura1-2.jpg\" alt=\"Capture\" width=\"468\" height=\"367\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>The altarpiece, almost two and a half meters high, was made of water-repellent fiberboard with varnished cedar wood,<\/strong> a combination that offers a beautiful result while preserving the piece from deterioration due to humidity. In the central part it has <strong>three frames in gilded wood with mixtion<\/strong>The second one frames the coat of arms of the Church, also gilded, another one frames the oil painting of St. Josemar\u00eda, and a third one for the bas-relief.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The complex is built on a<strong> gray granite altar<\/strong> and receives illumination in the upper half by means of <strong>led lighting<\/strong>&nbsp;integrated into the wooden sides.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The finished work can already be contemplated in a lateral arcosolio of the temple.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>BLESSING CEREMONY OF THE NEW ALTARPIECE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The past <strong>The blessing of the altarpiece took place on January 21, presided over by the bishop of the Diocese.<\/strong> D. Carlos Escribano Sub\u00edas,<strong> accompanied by the bishop of Arecibo and the Vicar Delegate of Opus Dei for La Rioja and Aragon<\/strong> D. Pablo Lacorte Tierz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6020\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20180121_124226-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"20180121_124226\" width=\"4128\" height=\"3096\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6021\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20180121_124936-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"20180121_124936\" width=\"4128\" height=\"3096\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Thus the church highlights the figure of<strong> a saint who belonged to his parish during his youth until he moved to Zaragoza and who felt in Logro\u00f1o, very close to the church, the first signs of his vocation.<\/strong> that would lead him to found, ten years later, Opus Dei.
