{"id":14412,"date":"2018-04-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/granda.com\/el-simbolismo-tras-esta-custodia-de-talleres-de-arte-granda-un-homenaje-al-sacrificio-eucaristico\/"},"modified":"2024-02-14T16:06:10","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T15:06:10","slug":"the-symbolism-behind-this-monstrance-by-talleres-de-arte-granda-a-tribute-to-the-eucharistic-sacrifice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/granda.com\/en\/el-simbolismo-tras-esta-custodia-de-talleres-de-arte-granda-un-homenaje-al-sacrificio-eucaristico\/","title":{"rendered":"The symbolism behind this monstrance by Talleres de Arte Granda, a tribute to the Eucharistic Sacrifice."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SYMBOLISM OF A PIECE DESIGNED FOR ADORATION<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The large size of the monstrance is characteristic of traditional Granda monstrances, as well as the deep iconographic sense of its decorative elements, always present in Don Felix's designs, especially if they were intended for the exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6304\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2211-e1524150465385.jpg\" alt=\"img_2211.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"755\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>custody<\/strong>in whose viril the Sacred Form is to be exhibited, is the <strong>throne from which Christ reigns<\/strong> in Majesty.<\/p>\n<p>At the foot of the monstrance we see a <strong>leaf litter of thistles in relief representing sin<\/strong>surrendered at the feet of Christ.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6305\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2217-e1524150447942.jpg\" alt=\"img_2217.jpg\" width=\"1600\" height=\"734\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>In the macolla, which interrupts the continuity of the shaft, we can see <strong>eight seated figures representing the Prophets,\u00a0<\/strong>since the throne of Christ is established on the Law of the Old Testament.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6306\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2214-e1524150431249.jpg\" alt=\"img_2214.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"600\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The virile, of gilded silver so that there is never any tarnish on the Sacred Form, is surrounded by bursts of enamel, alternating with others of gilded silver, which make up the head of the monstrance. <strong>The blue color of the enamel represents divinity.<\/strong> and, in the manner of Celtic crosses, they draw a <strong>intertwined that never ends and that represents the infinity of God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Around the viril the <strong>angels sing \"Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus\".<\/strong> and underneath are scattered the <strong>vine shoots with branches, which together with the cross<\/strong> of the upper part, <strong>symbolizes the Eucharistic sacrifice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6307\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_22111-e1524150405518.jpg\" alt=\"img_22111.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"895\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6302\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6302\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-6302\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/custodia-131-063-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"custody 131 063\" width=\"630\" height=\"800\" title=\"\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-6302\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Complete piece after its realization and assembly.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>You can see the creation process of this piece of sacred art. <a href=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/en\/2018\/04\/19\/tradition-and-innovation-the-essence-of-contemporary-goldsmithing\/\">here<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SIMBOLISMO DE UNA PIEZA PENSADA PARA LA ADORACI\u00d3N El gran tama\u00f1o de la custodia es caracter\u00edstico de las custodias tradicionales de Granda, as\u00ed como el profundo sentido iconogr\u00e1fico de sus elementos decorativos, siempre presente en los dise\u00f1os de Don F\u00e9lix, especialmente si iban destinados a la exposici\u00f3n y adoraci\u00f3n del Sant\u00edsimo Sacramento.
