It is located in <strong>Long Island, United States<\/strong> and is the seat of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. The present church was built over an existing white stone church, which had to be enlarged due to the growing number of parishioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/granda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/17961565884_e1564eecd4_b.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7384\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For this temple, specifically in the <strong>Our Lady's Chapel<\/strong>recently, we have recently carried out a <strong>marble frieze<\/strong>, <strong>six candlesticks<\/strong> gold-plated and a <strong>altar cross<\/strong> which are already installed in the interior. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The design of the candelabra and the altar cross was inspired by the <strong>medieval style of the Benedictine Abbey of Santo Domingo de Silos<\/strong>. The cross bears a hieratic image of Christ crucified, reigning from the cross. On the reverse is engraved the image of Our Lady, Mediatrix of all graces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The frieze is located in the space between the stained glass windows and the beginning of the altar. It has been <strong>made of carrara marble and framed in mahogany wood<\/strong> and extends along the altar. It is ornamented with different carved motifs: the emblem <strong>IHS<\/strong> and a floral pattern, traditionally associated in Christian art with the Virgin Mary. However, the five <strong>flowers with large petals<\/strong> that decorate this frieze, also symbolize the <strong>wounds of Christ<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chapel of Our Lady is open daily for personal prayer and adoration and is located in the <strong>right side of the apse<\/strong>The main door, very close to the presbytery, is visible through a decorative grille that separates this space from the rest of the cathedral.
