Last week we blessed the tabernacle that we have made for the Notre-Dame de la Victoire basilica in Saint-Raphaël (Var, France). The entire Granda team in charge of the project has put its know-how to work to conceive a sagrario unique, not only because of its large size and strategic location, but also because of its shape, finishes and details, it was able to integrate seamlessly into the building and immediately attract the gaze of everyone who enters the temple.
We therefore decided to associate its design with a well-known and admired element: the dome of the basilica, icon of the town of Saint-Raphaël. In order to reproduce it as faithfully as possible and to translate its form to the needs of a piece of liturgical art, we used noble, durable materials that are compatible with the interior of the building.
The result is a large piece of gold work gilded with 24k gold, weighing 125kg and 122cm in height. The dome is topped by a Latin cross and decorated with an enameled geometric frieze. It rests on an octagonal drum with arches in relief. The body, also of architectural type, is inspired by the façade of the temple and reproduces its gabled top with lambrequins. The door is ornamented with a large enamel of the Risen Christ of neo-Gothic inspiration. Its interior, of reinforced security, is completely decorated and has an enamel of the Mystic Lamb. We have also made a conopeo, as follows
as a wooden base on which the tabernacle rests.
