On the occasion of the book day, we would like to share with you some outstanding publications about our company.
The list is headed by our first catalogwhich was published in 1911 and is available for free download. It is not, however, an ordinary catalog; written by our founder, the priest Don Félix Granda y Buylla, it contains photographs and a detailed description of some of the works that the company, then called "Talleres de Arte", had already made between 1891 and 1911. It is a unique document to know the reasons that inspired Don Félix Granda to create the company, as well as the beautiful iconographic interpretations and theological sense that he brought to his creations.
Inspired by this catalog model, coinciding with our 120th anniversary we published a collection of five short monographic publications on each of the areas covered by our workshops: Goldsmithing, Textile Ornaments, Carving and Imagery, Projects and Conservation and Restoration. You can visit free download on our website.
Some of our most relevant works appear in different publications, among which two monographic publications stand out. One of them is dedicated to the Sanctuary of the Blessed Sacrament (Alabama. USA) in the monastery of Our Lady of the Angels (Our Lady of the Angels) in Alabama, USA, whose integral decoration was entrusted to our company by the charismatic Mother Angelica. It can be purchased at store on-line of the nuns.
Our Conservation-Restoration interventions also have different editions. Among them, we highlight one of the most important interventions in silverware in recent years in our country, carried out under the direction of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain: the restoration of the Holy Ark of the Cathedral of Oviedo. The monographic publication on the intervention can be found at free download on IPCE's web site.
We hope these publications will make this book day more enjoyable for you!
