This is a replica of a XVI century carving made in our workshops of sacred art. The carving is located in the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, in Alicante and it is carried in procession every Easter. The church asked us for an exact copy of the carving in order to use it in the solemn processions and to protect the original from the weather and other possible damages.
Our artists were able to spend time studying the original in order to carry out this delicate task and accurately reproduce every detail.
The piece, anonymous, is between the style that characterizes medieval Spanish sculpture and Renaissance sculpture. It is an example of typical Andalusian School carving, in which there is a great influence of Italian Renaissance aesthetics.
