Cloak for a parish in Las Tablas (Madrid): This is how the embroiderers of Los Rosales embroidery workshop get their inspiration

The sacred vestments complete the order, space and beauty of the celebration of the liturgy. God's action in people needs to be mediated by external signs that express God's truth.

For the making of this cloak and shoulder cloth, the place for which they would be destined has been taken into account: a newly built parish, large presbytery, walls covered with gold leaf, presence of limestone and granite. For the patron it was intended to seek continuity with the graphic testimonies found in the history of art of the first millennium..

Both garments are made in natural silk diamond damask beige color. Geometric motifs taken from the great Mozarabic codices preserved in Spain have been embroidered on the fimbrias and the hood. Tribute to the Hispanic liturgy and an update of the heritage that our elders left us. The blue, green and maroon colors contrast with the silk. The beauty, simplicity and nobility of this material sings the harmony of geometry and color. The fimbrias are topped with a small golden braid that favors conservation by preventing the wear of the fabric with friction.

The hood presents a Mozarabic cross that complements the geometries of the fimbriations.

The textile department of Talleres de Arte Granda, the Taller Artesano Los Rosales, has made use of the experience of the goldsmiths' workshop chiselers. The cape brooch is made of 24 carat gold plated metal. It represents the Paschal LambThe image of Christ immolated for us, the true Lamb who takes away the sin of the world and actualizes the new and eternal covenant with man through the sacramental and liturgical celebration. Thus in baptism, in the celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours, during Eucharistic adoration, in the various blessings and processions, the priest actualizes the presence of Christ who returns to make all things new, prefiguring and encouraging us in the hope of his eschatological coming. The marriage of the Lamb has come, his bride has become beautiful (Rev 19:7).
