The dream of St. Joseph: popular devotion in Singapore

Image of St. Joseph's dream where he received the various divine inspirations, when the angel appears to him and tells him to accept Mary as his wife, or in Bethlehem to take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt. In Singapore they usually put him at home and light a candle.

St. Joseph, asleep, is warned in a dream by the angel of the divine command, to march to Egypt, in order to deliver the Messiah from the slaughter ordered by Herod (Matthew 2:13).
Matthew 2:13: "And when they were parted, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, 'Arise, and take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and be there until I tell you; for it will come to pass, that Herod will seek the child to kill him.
And he awoke, and took the child and his mother by night, and went into Egypt;
And he was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my Son.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the magi, was very angry, and sent and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and in all its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time that he had heard from the magi".
Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, who said:

"A cry is heard in Ramah,
weeping and great lamentation;
is Rachel, who cries for her children
and does not want to be consoled;
their children no longer exist!"
