The past October 13was beatified in Tarragona D. Francisco Solís PedrajasPrior of Mancha Real (Jaén), along with 521 other martyrs. GRANDA has been the responsible for making the urn containing the remains of Blessed Fracisco Solís, now resting in the Parish of San Juan Evangelista (Mancha Real, Jaén).
This is a urn casket made in gold-plated and silver-plated brasswith openwork and engraved ornamentation. On the front there is a relief of the Immaculate flanked by two martyr's palms and a rosary surrounding the image of the Virgin. On the sides, a relief of the Sacred Heart and Saint Francis and on the lid, an eagle holding a cross in its claws, symbol of eternal life.
Blessed Francisco Solís Pedrajas was the parish priest of Mancha Real from 1914 to 1937, the year in which he was martyred in the cemetery of the town of which he was the parish priest.
He was a man of strong personality, a man of God as one of his biographers calls him and describes him as "a learned and eloquent preacher, full of fame (...). Strong and firm to move and move his parishioners to do something more practical than lamenting in difficult situations. Fearless in the face of death...., joyful in the face of martyrdom, with a contagious joy that moved those who were to die with him to sing to the Lord".
