The Hispanic American community of Madrid can now pray before the new image of the Virgin of Guadalupe in the Almudena

The new image of the Virgin of Guadalupe made by GRANDA for the crypt of the Almudena Cathedral of Madrid, is already installed inside the temple.

The image was commissioned by Mr. José Antonio HernándezJosé Antonio, parochial vicar of the crypt. On more than one occasion, D. José Antonio observed that many people from the American continent approached the doors of the Almudena Cathedral and knelt right there, in front of the leaf of one of them on which is depicted the Virgin of Guadalupe, patron saint of the American continent.

There were few images of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Madrid and none inside the cathedral. To make up for this, and as pastoral care for Hispanic-Americans living in MadridJosé Antonio commissioned GRANDA to create a sculpture of the Virgin of Guadalupe, symbol of religious unity throughout the AmericasThe Hispanic American community could gather and pray in front of it.
