Los Rosales designs a special Marian chasuble for the centenary of the apparitions at Fatima

From the very beginning, and driven by the determination of its founder, Granda has sought to create a art at the service of faith, where beauty would speak directly to the hearts of men and women.. An art that would combine theological rigor and artistic quality.

The artisan workshop Los Rosales was created in 1958 with the same purpose and, since then, he has been dedicated to the handmade textile ornaments, using traditional techniques such as hand embroidery, appliqué and silk dyeing.

The handcrafted creation allows us to make personalized designs according to the taste and needs of each client, which leads to the creation of unique pieces like this one. Marian chasuble ordered from the USA on the occasion of the centenary of the apparitions of Fatima.

The chasuble, white in color, is hand embroidered with the technique of dyed with natural silk thread. This complex technique has its origins in the Orient, and consists of reproducing the chosen designs on the base fabric by covering them with different silk threads. These threads, applied and fixed on the base fabric, reproduce the volume and light with the effect of a painting technique.

On the chasuble, in a vertical arrangement, there is a central strip embroidered on red with the technique of embroidery on application. For this purpose, different gold and silver tisues have been used, as well as natural silk fabrics, which are cut out with the chosen shapes, in this case, plant motifs. Once the designs are cut out, they are applied to the fabric to be bordered with fine gold cords.

Finally, among the ornamental motifs, embroidery has been used for six avocations of the virgin with their own attributes: the Miraculous Virgin, the Virgin of Perpetual Help and the Virgin of Fatima, on the front, and the Immaculate Virgin of Murillo, the Virgin of Guadalupe and the Virgin of Carmen, on the back.
