Traditional Processional Banners

The materials and artistic techniques chosen to make processional banner depend on their intended function and frequency of use. For special occasions, we receive orders to make precious banners with rich ornamentation. These are sewn following traditional design and elaborate embroidery techniques, appliqués, often with gold threads and wire fringe, using needle painting embroidery with colorful and metallic silk threads. For continuous display and less festive occasions, banners are usually less complex in design and use more elements resistant techniques and materials, such as machine woven fabrics and applique or woven patterns. Banners usually feature an emblem or a figure as their central motif. They usually represent devotions specific to given dioceses or parishes, emblems of fraternities and or various parish guilds.
