Special tabernacle for St. James Catholic Church of Belvidere (Ilinois, United States)

Larson Darby Architecture, the architectural firm in charge of the recently completed renovation of St. James Catholic Church of Belviderehas counted on GRANDA to build the new tabernacle of the temple.

Designed by Joseph Winkelmannby Larson Darby, the shape of the tabernacle recalls the pointed arches of the presbytery of the church. It is made of polished metal, enriched with silver-plated details. It contains engraved geometric motifs as well as the phrase extracted from the synoptic gospels: This is my Beloved Son, Listen to Him ("This is my Beloved Son, Listen to Him") from the scene of the Lord's Transfiguration.

The tabernacle door shows a chalice with a medallion that reads. IHS (the initials of Christ in Latin) among clouds. The complete piece is 83 cm high.
