This large oratory
is located in a new building on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Our intervention consisted of an end-to-end project where we helped to define the spaces, assisted with construction details, and provided special design of the furnishings as well as the liturgical gold and silverware. From a stylistic point of view, the oratory arrangement is rooted in the traditional architecture of the churches of Jerusalem. Thus, the distinctive limestone used on different buildings throughout the city takes center stage, with its own sections characteristic of ashlar masonry reinterpreted by the use of some contemporary lines. The domed apse of the sanctuary is the highlight of the Oratory. Beneath its three arches, we find the Calvary painted with the techniques of the art of icons inherent to the traditional practice in Jerusalem and surrounding areas.
