Gilded, cast, forged, carved, and chiseled silver, with enamels.
Custody or monstrance the design is inspired by 16th century monstrances and, especially, by the Spanish-American silverware. Its plan is divided into eight sections, four larger in the shape of an arc alternating with four in the shape of a warped point. The base was cold forged by hand. The sunburst shape head of this monstrance consists of attractive latticework with a geometric relief enhanced by vivid green-over-gold enamelwork. Additional enrichment alternates green and red enamels that help emphasize decorative motifs.
