Gold-plated metal and silver
Eclectic-style tabernacle designed by Fr. Félix Granda in 1926. The body, in the shape of a barrel vault, is richly decorated with embossed, cast, and enameled elements. It also features a large cast and chiseled finish with two angels holding the figure of the Holy Pelican. All iconographic elements used in the design are meaningful to the smallest details. The lower section of the exterior features a relief of the parish’s image of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Interior of this tabernacle concentrates the greatest wealth of materials, techniques, and colors. The interior decoration of the door is especially noteworthy with its bas-reliefs of Christ in Majesty and four medallions with angels, all outstanding example of ivory carvings from our workshop at the beginning of the 20th century. The reliefs are surrounded by a rich set of champlevé and basse-taille green-over-gold enamels. Painted enamel represents the praising creations and natural elements such as air, water, earth, and the stars.
