Garments for dress image
Hand embroidered silk damasks
El Casar de Talamanca.
These two garments were made for an image of the Virgin with Christ-Child. Dressing images carved in wood with rich ornaments is an age-old and widespread tradition in Spain. The mantle is hand-embroidered with gold cords and features openwork gold trimmings. The colored floral motifs, as well as other details, are made using needle painting embroidery with silk threads.
