The School of Theology of the University of Navarra has organized the XXXIV Symposiumwhich this year will deal with Art and Theology and will be held at Pamplona, Spain, October 14, 15 and 16, 2015..
The Symposium has an interdisciplinary character: theological and artistic at the same time. To this end, theologians with artistic sensibility and artists with religious sensibility have been invited to participate in this symposium.
Pope Francis recalled that "in every age, the Church turned to the arts to express the beauty of her faith and proclaim the Gospel message of the greatness of God's creation, the dignity of man created in his image and likeness, and the power of Christ's death and resurrection that brought redemption and rebirth to a world marked by the tragedy of sin and death.".
The Symposium aims to facilitate a doctrinally consistent and attentive reflection on new modes of artistic expression from which both artists and theologians can benefit. To this end, the following have been invited professionals from the world of cinema, architecture and theology, sculptors, painters and musicians..
The Symposium "Art and Theology"will also offer a interesting exhibition on Grandaa few guided tours of the University of Navarra Museum and to the Occidens" exhibition in Pamplona CathedralThe organ concert will be given by Mr. Julián Ayesa, canon organist.
