Architect William Wardell's dream has finally come true. In the main altar of his famous work, the St Mary's Cathedral, the cathedral of Sydney (Australia)the sculptures are already in place. of the apostles that the Bishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pellcommissioned GRANDA. It consists of sixteen sculptures, handmade in carved and polychrome wood, representing the twelve apostles, St. Paul, St. John the Baptist and the two prophets Elijah and Moses.
Now, after nearly a century and a half since the architect conceived his original work, the niches that remained empty for more than 133 years are busy with the sculptures that they have halfway around the world to reach your destination.
Over the course of six weeks, the sculptures have remained on display to the public to be admired before they took their final place on the main altar of the great cathedral.
