Fernando Botero's Way of the Cross arrives in Rome

After traveling halfway around the world "The Way of the Cross" by Fernando Botero arrives at Rome where it will remain until May 1 in the Exhibition Center of the Italian capital.

The sample consists of a total of 27 oil paintings and 34 drawings. In this exhibition of the Stations of the Cross you can see the dedicated study and his love for the Italian primitives of the first half of the VX century, as well as the painters of the Renaissance. Many artists painted the passion of Christ in settings with medieval fortresses and hilly landscapes. Now the Colombian artist adopts the theme from settings such as Manhattan or the towns of Antioquia.

Fernando Botero (Medellín, 1932) is part of the generation of artists that completely renewed the aesthetic language of Colombia. His stitches and sculptures are easily recognizable by his exaggerated use of volumes.
