Christian iconography is an inexhaustible source of symbols that goes far beyond
those to which we are more accustomed, such as the attributes that identify a company, such as
saints or representations of Christ and Gospel scenes.
One of these symbols, widely used in his designs by our founder, Mr. Felix Granda,
are the deer drinking from the Fountain of Life. It is based on the verse from the Psalms
"As the hind seeks streams of water, so my soul seeks you, my God.". In this chalice, the
deer, which represent the souls, swirl around a fountain with seven
pumps, symbol of Christ as the Fountain of Living Water. The number of pumps makes
reference to the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The calyxmade of silver and gilded silver, is neo-Gothic in style and is based on a design by
our company in the first third of the 20th century. We also show you other designs that
We have preserved chalices and ciboria in which this iconographic symbol was used.
