An image of the Virgin Mary, a symbol of coexistence in Northern Ireland

The parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace is located in Martinstown, a small town in Country Antrim, Northern Ireland.

In Talleres de Arte GRANDA we have had the satisfaction of making an image of St. Mary Queen of Peace, patron saint of the temple. The image is made of materials suitable for outdoor use.

During the time of religious conflicts in Ireland, known as "The Troubles", this Catholic church was bombed twice, but a few years later it was rebuilt. Last year its parish priest promoted the installation of this sculpture, to remind everyone of the positive aspects of local coexistence.
