On the occasion of the V Centenary of the birth of St. Teresa of Jesus -which will be held in 2015 - the Vicarage of Culture of the bishopric of Alcalá de Henaresin collaboration with the School of Christian Artis preparing an exhibition on the mystic from Avila, which will be open to the public. as of October 15, 2014.
The exhibition will be entitled "With the eyes of the soul." and will be located in the High Choir of the Monastery, on the upper floor, in the cloistered area of the monastic complex. The visit will be conducted with an audio guide. Visitors will be able to learn about the major milestones in the life of St. Teresa while contemplating paintings, books, medals and other objects, which will be accompanied by explanatory panels. The exhibition will include the reconstruction of a Carmelite nun's cellThe exhibition will be set up with original objects donated by the Monastery of the Discalced Carmelites of the Immaculate Conception (commonly known as "de la Imagen") of Alcalá de Henares. It will also be projected a video that collects the testimony of several Discalced Carmelite nuns.
The poster announcing the exhibition uses a picture of the painter Ruizanglada. This is the canvas "Saint Teresa of Jesus on the city of Avila". and, along with other works by the painter, will be part of the exhibition.
