And in the case of this renovation project, the client specifically wanted to remodel the sanctuary to give appropriate prominence to the Crucifix and install a new tabernacle. We proposed that the image of the crucified Christ be accompanied with the addition of new statues of the Virgin Mary and St. John, thus creating a representation of the Calvary.We used the aesthetic of the Crucifix to realize the images of Our Lady and St. John. For this reason, both are set on a background of marbled wood in cream color. A carved wooden panel, polychrome in bluish gray and gold, serves as the enhanced background of both the entire apse area and the tabernacle.
