On September 8, 2009, the first blessing of the Altar from new oratory at Colegio RetamarRamón Herrando Prat de la Riba, Vicar General of Opus Dei in Spain.
The project of the new oratory has been carried out by the architectural studio Artytech2 who has been able to combine different materials such as steel and bamboo in a unique and very personal design.
All the decorative elements The interiors of the temple are the work of Granda. The presbytery has been decorated with three large reliefs The 4-meter-high statue, representing the Holy Family and different scenes from the Gospel: Jesus among the doctors and the miraculous catch of fish. A sculptural composition representing St. Josemaría surrounded by Retamar children and family members (175x 175x 80cm deep) occupies one of the sides.
In the center of the presbytery, Granda has designed an altar table richly carved and made of marble, as well as the seat, the ambo, a Stations of the Cross, the oratory benches, the Blessed Sacrament lamps and the tabernacle. The decoration of the sacristy has also been carried out by Granda.
This new work is part of the expansion and refurbishment project carried out in the Chapel Retamar School.
