The Holy Family and the Calling of the Disciples

These two large-format paintings in an idealized realistic style were made in collaboration with the Sacred Art School of Florence. The first image represents s an adolescent Jesus working on the carpenter's bench under the attentive and loving gaze of St. Joseph. The Virgin contemplates the scene as a witness of the bond between the two.Jesus looks directly at the viewer in a captivating manner. It seems as if he were challenging the worshippers, who are mostly students at the age at which He is represented here, to follow him. The other panel represents the Calling of the Disciples whom Christ found in a midst of their ordinary work, mending nets and fishing.
