This project
to the committee was to design an altar of sacrifice and a new ambo for the Cathedral in keeping with the architectural style of the building, with the emphasis on visual and liturgical integration all the sanctuary elements, old and new.Accordingly, the altar and the ambo follow design pattern of the neo-Gothic revival of English influence in which the Cathedral has been planned and built. The design also aimed to enhance some of the elegant preexistent interior materials and aesthetic details in the sanctuary. For example, the altar of sacrifice combines Carrara marble with Portuguese pink marble columns.
