New banners at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Orlando (Florida) will decorate the church throughout Lent.

The five meter long purple banners that the church of St. Isaac Jogues commissioned to Granda, were placed inside the church last Ash Wednesday and will decorate the interior of the church throughout Lent.

These are two 5 meter long banners made by the embroiderers of the Los Rosales workshop. The work has been costly because of their dimensions, although on this occasion, the embroidery has been done by computer.

The stripes used are gold and the purple damask is made of natural fiber.

Purple is the liturgical color used during Lent, a time of penance and renewal. It symbolizes penitence and mourning.
