Tabernacle Chapel of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham

This project
involved a renovation of the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, where the client wished to place a faithful reproduction of the altarpiece of the Slipper Chapel of Norfolk, England, where an important Marian devotion originated. The original altarpiece is a neo-Gothic work made in the early 20th century, after the devotion to this emblematic image was recovered for the English Catholics. Our reproduction faithfully follows that original and is made of cedar wood, with hand-carved bas-reliefs, traditional polychrome, and water gilding, with polished and matte finishes. Another element made for this project was the tabernacle, for which we chose a model inspired by the indications gathered in the Old Testament for the construction of the Ark of the Covenant.
